Rihmasto (Rhizome)
Documentary • Toisissa tiloissa/ HAM • 2023 • 21’
Mycelium is the root-like structure of a fungus, arranged without hierarchy between the parts of which it is composed. Tehtaankatu elementary school students encountered mycelium when the actinomycete (or ray fungus), a bacterium that causes diseases in humans, nested in the structures of their school. Between the years 2020 and 2023 the school was temporarily relocated. In that period the performance art collective Other Spaces introduced schoolchildren, through a participatory project, to various forms of rhizomatic phenomena, which the students explored together through collective bodily exercises. The documentary film follows the cycle in which the kids grow, and their ideas are evolving.

Puoli yhdeksän raivo (Prime Time Rage)
Experimental documentary • ELO Film School • 2018 • 29’
A compilation film utilizing TV-news footage recounts the bedtime story that the kids growing up in the 1990s learned to know so well. The story is like a movie about the good and the bad, us and them, profits and losses. Some images are so impressive that they are turned into symbols and monuments; beginnings, turning points and endings. The story began when we were kids, or actually it began a long time ago, and it still goes on.

Radikaali (Radical)
Documentary • ELO Film School/KUA • 2013 • 14’
A perspective to a young woman’s dreams and everyday life in Jordan. Radical as a concept means natural, organic, and perfect – quite unlike the stereotype, in which the word is understood to describe “fundamentalist” or ”threat to liberty”. Abeer, a young woman and devout Muslim, works for an NGO and on Heaven Radio station. What are her hopes and dreams? What does it mean for her to be radical?
